February 20th from 2-4 pm - "Pride, Prejudice & Romance". Join us for tea and a lively discussion of Jane Austen's beloved novel Pride and Prejudice. We will also enjoy short performances of some of our favorite scenes from Pride and Prejudice, performed by local Austen fans Keith Snell and Heather Parish, Artistic Director of the Woodward Shakespeare Festival. April 10th from 12:00 to 2:00 pm - "Austen, Inspiration & Tea". Local Austen sequel writer Sharon Lathan will share with our group how Jane Austen has inspired her to write her highly successful Darcy Saga series of books. We'll also enjoy a small afternoon tea luncheon provided by the lovely Maureen Shepperd, owner of Hollyhock's Cottage. The location for this event will be the back patio of Hollyhock's Cottage, 608 4th Street, Clovis, CA 93612.

May 8th from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm - 1st ANNUAL JANE AUSTEN FESTIVAL - We will be hosting the first and only Jane Austen Festival on the west coast of the United States - this is not to be missed! For all the details, please see our page entitled "Jane Austen Festival".

July 10th from 2-4 pm - "The Power of Persuasion". Join us for tea and a spirited discussion of Jane Austen's last complete novel, Persuasion. Location to be announced.

September 25th from 2-4 pm - "Gothic Intrigue at Northanger Abbey". Just in time to tie in with the theme of this year's AGM, Mystery, Mayhem and Muslin in Portland, we'll delve into the mysteries of one of Jane Austen's earliest works, Northanger Abbey. Location to be announced.

October 29th, 30th and 31st - JASNA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - Calling all Central Valley JASNA members! We are very fortunate to have this year's AGM on the west coast, so mark your calendars. The Portland, Oregon group is planning a wonderful event with a gothic theme for the Halloween season entitled Mystery, Mayhem and Muslin in Portland. Tickets for this event will go on sale around May of 2010 and will sell out quickly, so make your plans well in advance!
